Doug Marcy - Colorado
I always had a fantasy that I would bring Steve out to see and share my world in Colorado in the way he had shared his life and home in Florida with me. Sadly, that never happened. But yesterday to honor him and “bring him to the mountains” , I went to a place where I knew that I would have taken Steve when he did come out to these mountains where I live. Years ago, I had collected hundreds of tiny seashells from the beach. Can’t imagine why or why I kept them in a box for over 30 years but yesterday, I took them with me and high in the Rockies, above the plains visible in the distance looking toward Florida, I made a medicine wheel from the shells and placed two “Brother Beads” in the center. His spirit lives in these mountains as surely as it lives on the beach by the sea. The world will always be blessed because of what he was and how his spirit lives on in all of those of us he touched and the legacy he created. Thanks Steve for a great day and a great gift in my life!
